A marriage is an union of two people so it can only survive when the two of you select to make it work. Nevertheless, it only requires one of you to start the healing procedure. If the other individual deep down would like to try and salvage the scenario, they will go along with possible solutions. If your marriage is in trouble but you do not want it to end in divorce then the onus is on you to intervene and do your greatest to save it. If the other person is not interested, it will soon be apparent and also you will have to decide how to proceed with the breakup. If you are considering divorce already then you and your partner have a lot of work to do to turn things around. Fortunately, if you are both prepared to put in the time and effort then you can save marriage from divorce. What worked for us was sitting down together and talking, really talking about what our problems were. You both have to agree to not be accusatory when you are doing this, as if you are, then obviously it's going to dissolve into one of those arguments you are both so familiar with. There are several signs that you can observe to help you distinguish that your marriage is in trouble. These signs may either be verbally or in a silent manner. If you and your spouse often have arguments, it is already a sign of marital problems. This is because both you and your spouse seem not to coincide anymore. Being silent, on the other hand, does not mean that you will not have problems anymore, though. Sometimes, kept emotions and problems later lead to bigger problems that are already hard for the couple to handle. Is your marriage having any of those signs? If yes, then it is imperative that you seek ways on how to save your marriage. Even if you feel like your marriage is quite impossible to be saved, do not lose hope as there are a lot of ways that you can do that will help you make your marriage work. But first, you need to establish a good and honest communication between you and your spouse. In fixing any kind of relationship, having a good and stable communication is very important as it can help you tackle every problem that concerns your marriage and dig deeper in order to find out the root of the problem. Once the root of the problem is identified, it will be easy for the both of you to seek for the proper solution. After establishing a good and honest communication, the next step that you need to do on how to save marriage is to come up with a list that includes your possible problems and possible solutions to the problems. Both you and your spouse should try your best to tackle, follow, and accomplish what you have written on the list. This helps a lot as the list will act as your guidelines on what you need to do next in order to make your marriage work and make your relationship stronger. Always keep in mind that it takes two to tango. So, it is necessary that you and your spouse should coincide with what you have written on the list. Smart open flow of communication is very important, for when the communication is poor; the marriage is doomed to face problems. The most vital thing is to be up front with your partner. Every issue and drawback can be solved if communication is maintained. It really matters little what is causing the breakdown of a marriage you once perceived faultless, the important thing is that you realize that no marriage is a 100% trouble-free. There will always be those troubles, big or small, that will have an effect on every long-term relationship and this includes marriage. This is true even for those marriages that have lasted longer than 50 years.
